Pretty Vegas

I had no intentions of doing a post this am but since I am up at the ass crack of dawn why the hell not.  I have time.

…INXS, Pretty Vegas because it’s fitting. (and the singer is easy on the eyes)  ;)

Katy Perry, Waking Up In Vegas because well that’s where I will be waking up for the next 3 days.

And there you have it. Entertaining wasn’t it.

I will see you all on the flip side.

Peace.

Turn it Up! Play it Loud! – Aggression

Today’s Turn It Up! Play it Loud! is dedicated to Rock’n Out.  There are certain songs I play when I’m pissed, going to get a tattoo done, want to get out some built up tension or just simply rock.  These are some of these songs…

When I’m off to get a tattoo done I play this song along with some others for a couple of reasons.

1. I’m about to endure pain and usually for an extended time.

2. It’s a good song.

Feeling a bit of tension..I rock this one and have for many years

ARE YOU READY!!!!

Others that get me going..

I had the pleasure of seeing Staind live in a very small venue and it was Aw-some.

We got to see Papa Roach live a couple of years ago and was blown away.

We were there to see another band but they stole the show, they put on an awesome show.l

There you have it people.

Turn it Up! Play it Loud!

And as always…

Rock your Friday.

Keep Rock’n.

Peace.

This May Hurt Your Brain.

Alright I got a bunch of nothing today but a bunch of random crap so here we go.  If this hurts your brain I apologize in advance.

-My husband was eaten by the Snore Monster last night which moved me to the couch.  That monster is LOUD and annoying.

-The fact that people actually spend their money on Britney Spears tickets blows my mind.  Why in the hell would anyone buy tickets to watch someone lip sync?  If you do you are a dumbass and if you are buying them for your daughter you should be slapped…twice.

-My cat is now known as Daisy the Ninja Cat.  You walk through a room and she comes out of no where and attacks your ankles.  This is not cool when you have hot coffee in your hand.

-It’s been almost 2 weeks since we have been at the pool at my Dad’s because of weather and other going ons.  Today it is blue sky’s and hot so of course the pool is out of commission.  FML.  I need sun, the kids need to be worn out..Its about my Sanity people, Sanity!

-Now that our trip is planned I have the perfect excuse to go shopping!  Oh yes, this girl needs new shoes.  Like how I used the word need?  Yeah I need a new pair of shoes because my 158 pair that I already own aren’t Vegas worthy.   :P   I also need a dress and some shirts.  Yes I need them.

-Chances are that when I do go shopping I won’t find anything because I will be looking for specific items.  Why is this always the case?  When you are broke or just out for the hell of it you can find a shit ton of stuff you want but when you go on a mission you can’t find shit.  I must start now because multiple trips may be needed.

-I am tired of looking at my kids with their 4,379 tattoos on them. We are going to have a scrub fest today, their skin is going to be raw and red.

I will leave you with a funny video.  I may have posted it before, I can’t remember but it is one of my favorites so I will post it again.  The amount of time that my sister and I have spent quoting this video is disturbing and makes me question our brains.

#IHNFCWYJS <—-What? Exactly.

Here we go again. No, I’m not channeling White Snake.  Here we go again on Friday together.  Isn’t it wonderful.

-Like I have said before Twitter makes me twitterpated.  The people that live in my Twitter (that sounds kinda dirty, ha!) make me happy, they make me laugh, they keep me sane.  I heart them.  What I have noticed about twitter lately is the immense use of acronyms.  They have always been there but I have taken note as of late to how much they are used.  Not only to how much they are used but to the fact that I don’t know what 95% of them mean.  I have decided that I need to walk around with an acronym dictionary to ‘get’ what is being said on twitter.  I read a tweet and just smile and nod like I know what that acronym means.  On the outside I am saying “yeah I totally get what you are trying to say”, On the inside I am saying “I have no flipping clue what you just said”.  #IHNFCWYJS

-Another twitter thing that cracks me up is what we will do as true twitters to get what we need said within the 140 character limit.  Poor vowels, they are the first thing thrown to the way side when we need to shorten our words.  We will stick in a number to replace a few letters, spaces..what are those when we have a lot to say?, correction punctuation..what’s that?  To become a true twitterer you must throw out everything you have ever learned about correct grammar and in English class and channel your inner 7 year old to write your tweet. Perfect example is one of my tweets that was retweeted by a buddy and shortened to fit.  Perfect example on what we will do to get that 140 limit!   :)

-On another note B was asked by a dude that he has known for a few years now if he would be interested in playing bass in his band for some upcoming gigs next month.  Of course B jumped at the offer, anytime he has a chance to play he is stoked.  The guy sent B some of their old songs to get familiar with.  Let me start off by saying B usually plays rock, that is his genre of choice but he will play whatever.  Good thing because this band is a punk band.  His first practice as a punk bass player is tonight.  Interesting.  Rock Punk On!?!?

-If you have been watching The Voice at all you know of Javier Colon on Adam Levine’s team.  He is, in my opinion, the most talented singer on the show.  His voice is just amazing.  This week he blew me away again with his rendition of Coldplay’s “Fix You”.  Now I am not a Coldplay fan, I think there is one song that I dig but that is it.  Blasphemy I know, but it is what it is.  So with that said I had never heard of the song “Fix You”.  I instantly fell in love with it.  The words are just beautiful.  I went to itunes and compared the original to the Javier’s version.  You know who won?

Yep, I would much rather listen to Javier Colon sing it than Coldplay.  His version is now mingling on my iPod.  My money is on him to win the fist season of The Voice and when his record comes out I will be purchasing it because his voice is like butter…smooth.

On that note Rock Your Friday!

Turn it Up! Play it Loud! – Brandon Boyd

My next installment of Turn it Up! Play it Loud! goes to Brandon Boyd and his album Wild Trapeze.

Brandon Boyd is the lead singer of Incubus, who doesn’t love Incubus!  I have been a huge fan of Incubus since day one so when I stumbled upon his solo album on itunes sometime late last year I couldn’t preview his songs fast enough.  I absolutely loved what I was hearing and didn’t hesitate to purchase the album.  After my first full run through of the album I fell in love with his words, with the music, with the whole vibe of the album.  It is soothing and eerie at the same time. I have officially worn it out. I hope you enjoy.

First song up…Runaway Train

The Wild Trapeze

Courage and Control

Last Night as a Passenger

I hope you enjoy his music as much as I do!

Always…

Turn it Up! Play it Loud!

My Daughter the Rocker..Oh Cool Snap!

Hold on to your hats people…we are having a cool snap here in Tennessee.  After 15 or so days of 90+ degree weather we have a little relief. By a little I mean instead of it being 95 degrees its going to be 86.  Fish out the sweatshirts and long pants because it’s all kinds of chilly up in here.   ;)   In honor of this cool snap I will be half assing all of the home front duties today and heading to the pool with the kids and actually enjoy being outside by the pool instead of having to be in it completely submerged.  It’s a rough rough life, but hey someone’s got to do it.  You’re welcome.

My daughter has now become quite the little rock star.  2 years ago for Christmas B got her a hot pink acoustic guitar and she has finally taking a liking to it.  For the past week she has been in her room playing it and singing all of her favorite songs.  After much begging I finally got her to agree to play for me.  I snuck in my phone to record her and have some cute video.  B needs to tune her guitar something fierce.

First up..E singing Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream

Now a Miranda Crosgrove song.

So yes I have living with me the next pop super star! haha!  I love listening to her sing and play her guitar, it makes me smile.  B is the happiest man alive listening to her, you should see his smile when she plays.

My Daughter’s Music vs. Mine when I was her age.

Sunday morning, the sun is shining, I’m drinking my coffee and listening to E (5) rock out in her room to a new CD we made last night for her.  I love listening to her sing and watching her dance in her room, it brings back so many memories from my childhood.  I was always in my room with music playing.

Let’s compare the differences in music now vs. then…

First Up A little Rap

E: Dr. Dre Featuring Eminem and Skyler Grey, I need a Doctor

Me: Beastie Boys, No Sleep Till Brooklyn

Now Teenie Bopper Music

E: Miranda Crosgrove, About You Now

Me: Debbie Gibson, Electric Youth

E: Lady Gaga, Born this Way

Me: Madonna, Papa Don’t Preach

E: K$sha, Blow

Me: B-52′s, Love Shack

So yeah, I think it is safe to say times have changed just a bit!  Back then it was so innocent for the most part, people were somewhat clothed, it was fun.  Now everyone is half naked, you can’t watch a video without wanting to bang who ever is sitting next to you because every video is about sex.  I just aged myself right there and for some reason I am ok with that.  But hey, I still dig the music today for the most part.  E even asked me to make her Jack Johnson CD last night too, I know there is hope!

Turn It Up! Play It Loud! – The Dirty Heads

I have made the executive decision to move my music post to Thursday this week.  With the kids home now I can’t guarantee the time I need to do two posts on Friday. Let’s do this.

Today we will visit The Dirty Heads.  I had heard one of their songs that they did with Rome from Sublime on the radio a while back and loved it.  I immediately visited music heaven aka itunes and made them a permanent home on my ipod.  Today I will share my love of The Dirty Heads with you.  Here we go…

First up “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome of Sublime

“Check the Level”  The title is enough to fall in love with the song.

Check the level cause something’s coming’ over me
Something’s got a hold of me always controlling me
It’s in the audio, it’s in the air, it’s in the way you move
It’s everywhere, it’s something beautiful, that you don’t know
So feel the audio, and let it go

“Stand Tall”  God, I love this song.

I dedicate this song to Thypolar and Miss. (12) *mwah*

So I stand tall
It gets a little better
I see the water we can break down together
Stand strong it gets a little better now
(we can break it down, yes we can make it)
Stand tall
It gets a little better
I see the water we can break down together
Stand strong it gets a little better now

and last “Believe”

I hope you enjoyed them as much as I do!

Turn it Up!

Play it Loud!

And always Keep Rock’n!

What is that? Is that a……Vlog?

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Your wait is over.

I give you Fnkybee’s first….drum roll please……VLOG!  You read that right, I have crossed over and have done my first vlog.  I hope you enjoy..just don’t mind that awful paused picture.  What the crap is that?

Now stop laughing!

Oh and I totally meant yellow and black stripes not black and white!  I am not redoing this again to fix that!  It was a long morning!

Turn it Up! Play it Loud!

I am taking my Music Revolution Posts and giving them a new name.  My music posts will now be known as…Drum roll….

Turn it Up! Play it Loud!

Alright my music people.  Let’s do this.  Grab your cup of coffee, comfy seat and enjoy.

Today’s installment of Turn it Up! Play it Loud! is dedicated to another one of my favorite bands The Raconteurs.

If you could tell how many times an album is played on an ipod from wear alone, this album would be worn the f*ck out.  I love it, can’t get enough of it.

This is “Carolina Drama” off their album Consolers of the Lonely.  My favorite song on the album.

Next up we have “Salute your Solution”  I salute you the Racontuers!

I leave you with “You Don’t Understand Me”

’Now why don’t you turn it around because it might be easier to please me’

Keep Rock’n

Turn it Up!

Play it Loud!
