After last weeks photo shoot I had a friend ask me to do a pin up girl shoot for her and about 10 girls for their bar. It’s an anniversary gift for the bar’s owner and they all will be pin up girls. How Fun! This lit a fire in me, it made me think “I can do this”. I just have to put myself out there, I have to cross over the intimidating hump and find confidence in myself and just do it. So I am.
I would like to introduce
A photograph captures your unique story in time, even though it comes with no words, the story will forever be told with an image.
For now my focus is on finding people to shoot for cheap to get my experience, build a portfolio and to get my name out there. I am very excited to start this because this is me. When I started SpokenStill I was kidding myself. My love is not taking pictures of trees and landscapes it is shooting people, capturing their story. I want to help my client tell their story through still images. I want to give people something a little different, not just the traditional portrait with the white background. I want the photos to have an edge, I want them to pop, I want people to be amazed by them.
What I offer is modern, edgy and urban photo shoots on location or in a studio. I will photograph singles, groups, bands, kids, you name it and I will shoot it. If you are looking for studio shots they will be held at Lucid Linds Studio in the heart of downtown Nashville where a plethora of options are available inside and out. Urban, traditional, inside, and outside the possibilities the studio offers are endless. There are numerous textures and colors at my disposal. The studio also comes with the use of a dressing room, full kitchen and bathroom, internet access and a full sound system. If you would like more information on the studio or are a photographer yourself looking for a great studio for your shoots please visit LucidLindsStudio.com for more information.
If you are interested in a special price photo shoot please contact me by leaving a comment here or on my website fnkybeephotography.com or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yesterday I made the decision to take the plunge and finally purchase Photoshop Elements 9. I had downloaded a free trial earlier in the year when I was trying to decide what editing software I wanted to use. As much as I loved it, I found a site on the internet where I could edit for cheap and went that route. Well, you get what you pay for. After awhile the site that I decided to use got old and I found myself back in iphoto editing my photos. Blah.
I spent the day getting to know Miss. Element 9. She is a bit overwhelming at the moment but with time her and I will become great lovers. She can do everything that I want plus some, she’s kinky like that. I can’t wait to fully understand her interface and all of her curves. She is quite beautiful.
One thing that she can do is to make a photo black and white and then pull true colors through. I love love love this feature. It was one of the main reasons I wanted this program. There is just something about emphasizing a specific part/s of a photo that makes it pop, makes it beautiful. I took one photo yesterday to play with and did just that. Here it is.
Along with that awesome feature there are so many filters you can apply to your photos. I played a little with those too.
By no means do I plan on over processing every single photo with filters and effects, but they are fun to play with and they can add a much needed boost to a boring photo.
I am excited and ready to fully understand every aspect of her, ahem I mean the program. Now to study, shoot, play and experiment with my new lover.
My husband has been encouraging me to start my own business with my photos and sell my photos online. A shop on Etsy.com is now in the works. Now whether or not this is going to work is beyond me but I hope for the best. I have always had a love for photography since I was a little kid and I took my first good shot of my mom and dad on the beach in Fort Meyers Florida. I have never pursued it but have always taken shots here and there, mainly of friends and family and of course my kids..millions of the kids. About 2 years ago my husband got me a good camera, Sony a300, for Christmas. I love that camera even though it is on the cheaper side of the dslr cameras, it still takes good pictures for playing around. About a year ago I really started paying attention to taking shots, to what I am taking a picture of, playing with different angles etc. Seeing some of my shots rekindled my love for photography. Not every shot is note worthy but I have learned that when I do try and have the time to play I might just have an eye for it. I have received many good compliments on some of my photos and that gives me a little kick to really do this. I have given myself a deadline of Wednesday, that would be tomorrow!, to come up with a name for my little etsy shop so I can go and apply for a business license and all that jazz. For the last 2 days I have done nothing but stare at this computer screen researching all the avenues, requirements, sites etc. and now my eyes are crossing and I think my head is going to explode but it is all worth it. I have list upon list that I need to organize into pretty little lists, because right now it all looks like confusing chicken scratch. The fact that my husband is so encouraging and behind me on this makes it that much easier and a lot more fun. He is constantly throwing ideas at me as he passes. ”Hey if this takes off you could do this, and this, and that, and this!” I love ya babe but one step at a time. My head can only hold so much right now. But if this does do something everything that I make will go towards making it better and taking it a step further. What gives me hope is seeing other’s photos. I have a few friends up home that have successful photography businesses, they do portraits, and some of my photos are just as good as theirs. Even to see what is being sold on Etsy and other sites, my photos are just as good. Now whether or not those are selling is another question but if they think theirs are good enough mine sure as hell are!
Here are a couple of names that I am playing around with..what is your favorite? OR if you have an idea for a name let me know!!!
