My Daughter’s Music vs. Mine when I was her age.
Sunday morning, the sun is shining, I’m drinking my coffee and listening to E (5) rock out in her room to a new CD we made last night for her. I love listening to her sing and watching her dance in her room, it brings back so many memories from my childhood. I was always in my room with music playing.
Let’s compare the differences in music now vs. then…
First Up A little Rap
E: Dr. Dre Featuring Eminem and Skyler Grey, I need a Doctor
Me: Beastie Boys, No Sleep Till Brooklyn
Now Teenie Bopper Music
E: Miranda Crosgrove, About You Now
Me: Debbie Gibson, Electric Youth
E: Lady Gaga, Born this Way
Me: Madonna, Papa Don’t Preach
E: K$sha, Blow
Me: B-52′s, Love Shack
So yeah, I think it is safe to say times have changed just a bit! Back then it was so innocent for the most part, people were somewhat clothed, it was fun. Now everyone is half naked, you can’t watch a video without wanting to bang who ever is sitting next to you because every video is about sex. I just aged myself right there and for some reason I am ok with that. But hey, I still dig the music today for the most part. E even asked me to make her Jack Johnson CD last night too, I know there is hope!
Music Revolution Baby – Tool
I’m jumping on the Music Revolution Band Wagon! Over at Girl On The Contrary on Fridays you could find a post called Music Revolution where she would dedicate the post to her favorite music. A couple of other bloggers (Marinasleeps and Thypolar) that I read jumped on the bandwagon and started dedicating their Friday posts to the Music Revolution. I have wanted to jump on the wagon myself for weeks now but Fridays were dedicated to my Survival Sarcasm posts. Well I have decided that I will just have to have 2 posts on Friday’s now because I can’t stand it any longer! Yep I am a Friday blog post whore now.
First Band Up…Tool.
I heart me some Tool people..Heart them I say! B turned me on to them when we first got together and I was hooked. We were able to see them live in Atlanta years back and it was hands down the best show I have ever seen.
I give you Tool “Hooker with a Penis”
This video is dedicated to Shouts from the Abyss
Next up my all time favorite Tool song “Aenema” I can not get this song loud enough when I play it.
Now “Sober”
I leave you with “Schism”
Now I suggest that you get them on your ipod immediately!
Turn it Up!
Play it Loud!
Toddlers & Tiaras with Tom Hanks-Awesome Spoof
A friend of mine emailed me this video this morning and it’s pretty darn funny and I wanted to share the laugh. It’s a spoof on Toddlers & Tiaras with Tom Hanks and his daughter Sophie, she is in a pageant trying for the title of The Ultimate Sexy Baby.
Have a great day!
